Rollback Update: End of Support for Internet Explorer Browser
On October 16, 2023, WatchGuard applied an update on the technologies used by the AuthPoint IDP portal. As a result of this update, AuthPoint no longer supported the use of Internet Explorer (all versions) or Windows 8.1, which are both retired and no longer supported by Microsoft as of June 15, 2022.
Rollback Applied on Monday, October 23, 2023
Given that the impact of this change on our customers was greater than expected, we decided to revert this update to temporarily extend support for Internet Explorer to provide a longer transition period before moving forward with a permanent update. Currently, all affected customers should be able to experience normal activity when using the AuthPoint application portal on an Internet Explorer browser.

Actions for Customers
- If you are one of the affected customers because you are using Internet Explorer as your browser, you should use a modern browser such as Edge, Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.
- If you are one of the affected customers because you have an application that has Internet Explorer embedded, you will need to update your system and or configure it not to use Internet Explorer anymore.

Why are we still moving forward with this upgrade?
Keeping our systems and technologies up to date is essential in our development and operations to guarantee our customers' security. Microsoft and most of the technologies used in WatchGuard products no longer support Internet Explorer, even for security updates.
Not updating our systems may expose both WatchGuard and WatchGuard's customers to unnecessary risks.
Next steps
The temporary rollback is in place to provide a longer window for customers. To take necessary actions to eliminate or reduce impact once the new upgrade occurs in early 2024.
