Use DHCP

If your computer does not use the Windows 7 operating system, read the operating system help for instructions on how to set your computer to use DHCP.

To configure a computer with Windows 7 to use DHCP:

  1. Select Start > Control Panel.
    The Control Panel window appears.
  2. Select Network and Sharing Center.
  3. Select Change adapter settings.
  4. Double-click Local Area Connection.
    The Local Area Connection Status window appears.
  5. Click Properties.
    The Local Area Connection Properties window appears.
  6. Double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
    The Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box appears.
  7. Select Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically.
  8. Click OK to close the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties dialog box.
  9. Click OK to close the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box.
  10. Close the Local Area Connection Status, Network Connections, and Control Panel windows.
    Your computer is ready to connect to the Firebox.

To connect to the Firebox:

  1. When the Firebox is ready, open a web browser.
  2. In the browser address bar, type the IP address of your Firebox and press Enter.
  3. If a security certificate warning appears, accept the certificate.
    The Quick Setup Wizard starts.

The default IP address for interface 1 of a Firebox is https://10.0.1.1/.

  1. Run the Web Setup Wizard.
