Use DHCP
If your computer does not use the Windows 7 operating system, read the operating system help for instructions on how to set your computer to use DHCP.
To configure a computer with Windows 7 to use DHCP:
- Select Start > Control Panel.
The Control Panel window appears. - Select Network and Sharing Center.
- Select Change adapter settings.
- Double-click Local Area Connection.
The Local Area Connection Status window appears. - Click Properties.
The Local Area Connection Properties window appears. - Double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
The Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box appears. - Select Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically.
- Click OK to close the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties dialog box.
- Click OK to close the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box.
- Close the Local Area Connection Status, Network Connections, and Control Panel windows.
Your computer is ready to connect to the Firebox.
To connect to the Firebox:
- When the Firebox is ready, open a web browser.
- In the browser address bar, type the IP address of your Firebox and press Enter.
- If a security certificate warning appears, accept the certificate.
The Quick Setup Wizard starts.
The default IP address for interface 1 of a Firebox is https://10.0.1.1/.
