Limit the Number of Endpoints for a Managed Account

If you have an active subscription license for a WatchGuard Endpoint Security product and modules, managed accounts can add any number of endpoints to their account. You can limit the maximum number of endpoints for a specific account you manage.

  • Unlimited number of users — Select this option to allow the account to add any number of endpoints to their account.
  • Limit the number of users — Select this option to limit the maximum number of endpoints for an account.

Caution: If you allocate an unlimited number of usersendpoints with subscription to an account, your Service Provider account could become overallocated. If this happens, you cannot access the management UI and no new installations are permitted. Overallocated devices are unprotected after seven days.

To limit the number of endpoints for a managed account, in WatchGuard Cloud:

  1. Select Inventory.
  2. From Account Manager, select the managed account. If this is a Service Provider account, you must also select their Subscriber account from the list of their managed accounts.
  3. Select Endpoint > Allocation.
  4. From the Allocation Type list, select Subscription.
  5. Select Limit the number of endpoints.
  6. Type the Maximum Number of Endpoints this account can have.
  7. Select the check box for modules you want to allocate.
  8. In the Quantity box, enter the number of modules.
You cannot allocate more modules than the number of endpoint security licenses allocated. For more information, go to About Endpoint Security Licenses.
  9. Click Save.
