About Trusted Platform Module Technology (Windows Computers)
Applies To: WatchGuard Full Encryption
WatchGuard Full Encryption uses Trusted Platform Module (TPM) technology to manage the encryption of WatchGuard Endpoint Security protected computers. Full Encryption supports TPM versions 1.2 and higher.
If possible, on Windows computers, use TPM technology along with other supported authentication systems, such as a personal identification number (PIN).
Some computers have a TPM chip installed on their motherboard. If your computer does not have a TPM chip installed on its motherboard, go to Full Encryption Authentication Types for an alternative authentication method. For computers that do have a TPM chip installed on their motherboard, at the login process, the computer uses that TPM chip to protect sensitive data and stored passwords. TPM also detects any changes in the boot events of the computer.
If you disabled the TPM chip in the BIOS settings of your computer, you might have to manually enable the chip from the BIOS.
