Assign Interfaces to a VLAN
When you create a new VLAN, you specify the type of data it receives from Firebox interfaces. However, you can also make an interface a member of a VLAN that is currently defined or remove an interface from a VLAN.
- Select Network > VLAN.
The VLAN page appears. - Click Add, or select a VLAN interface and click Edit.
- In the Select a VLAN tag setting for each interface list, select one or more interfaces.
- From the Select Traffic drop-down list, select an option to apply to the selected interfaces:
- Tagged traffic — The interface sends and receives tagged traffic.
- Untagged traffic — The interface sends and receives untagged traffic.
- No traffic — Remove the interface from this VLAN configuration.
- Click Save.
- In the Network Configuration dialog box, select the Interfaces tab.
- Select an interface and click Configure.
The Interface Settings dialog box appears. - In the Interface Type drop-down list, select VLAN.
A table that shows all current VLANs appears. You may need to increase the size of this dialog box to see all of the options.
- Select the Send and receive tagged traffic for selected VLANs check box to receive tagged data on this network interface.
- Select the Member check box for each interface you want to include in this VLAN.
To remove an interface from this VLAN, clear the adjacent Member check box.
An interface can be a member of one external VLAN, or multiple trusted or optional VLANs.
- To configure the interface to receive untagged data, select the Send and receive untagged traffic for selected VLAN check box at the bottom of the dialog box.
- Select a VLAN configuration from the adjacent drop-down list, or click New VLAN to create a new VLAN configuration.
- Click OK.
