WatchGuard Agent – Installation and Upgrade Error Messages

This topic includes a list of error messages that can occur during installation and a description of their meaning. Go to the appropriate section for your endpoint device.
Windows
These error messages could occur on the agent during installation on Windows devices:
Error Message | Recommend Action |

Another Installation in Progress |
No action is required. When the installation in progress completes, the agent restarts the installation. |
Removal of Third-Party Protections Not Available (AV installed) |
You must remove the security product installed. Information on the incompatible product is available from a report you can export from the management UI on the Installing progress page. In the report, review the list of Other Security Products. |
Error Upon Removing Third-Party Protections (AV installed) |

Not Enough Free Space in Disk to Carry Out the Installation |
You must free up disk space and retry the installation. |
Windows Installer Service Not Operative |
As stated on the Microsoft page, "the Windows Installer service could not be accessed. Contact your support personnel to verify that the Windows Installer service is properly registered." |
Error "Unable to download the protection (-2146893018)" when trying to install or upgrade the protection software on Windows XP |

1603; 13; XX - Generic Error |
You must run the Generic Protection Uninstaller (DG_PANDAPROT8_XX.exe, password: panda) to resolve the error. For more information, go to Uninstall the Endpoint Software. |
1603; 21; XX - Error in the Signature Verification |
For more information on Root Certificates, go to Installation Requirements in the WatchGuard Endpoint Security Release Notes. |
1603; 24; XX - Unable to Upgrade During Restart/Shutdown. |
The agent cannot update the Endpoint Security software when the computer or device is restarting or shutting down. When this error occurs, the computer restarts. When the user logs in, a message appears to start the upgrade. |
1603; 10; XX - Incorrect Uninstall Password |
The computer must restart to upgrade the Endpoint Security software. If this error occurs, when you log in, click Restart Now in the dialog box that appears to restart the computer and complete the upgrade. |
1603; 14; XX - Generic Error |
The computer must restart to upgrade the Endpoint Security software. If this error occurs, when you log in, click Restart Now in the dialog box that appears to restart the computer and complete the upgrade. |
1603; 15; XX - Error Getting Configuration |

1603; 19; XX - Detection of Suspended Prior Execution |

1603; 20; XX - The Upgrade Could Not Be Performed |

1603; 26; XX A modification has been found in the computer. The execution of a product binary was redirected to another process. |

1603; 30; XX - Windows Update Reboot Required |
Restart the computer to apply the operating system KB upgrade. Restart a second time to apply the protection upgrade. |
1603; 2; Incomplete Software Detected |
In the Endpoint Security management UI, go to the Settings > Workstations and Servers > General section and disable the option, Automatically uninstall protections from other vendors.

Linux
These error messages could occur on the agent during installation on Linux devices:

4424; Unable to Install the Protection |
Requires a reboot and user interaction with the EFI. Run the script /usr/src/protection-agent-XX.XX.XX.XXXX-X.X.X_XXX_XXXXXXX/scripts/sb_import_key.sh as root and follow the prompts. For more information, go to Installation of the Client Software on Linux Platforms with Secure Boot. |
4426; Unable to Install the Protection |
Fix the preinstall support dependency. In case of the kernel-devel / linux-headers package, it could be necessary to upgrade or change the current kernel. If this is required, the kernel module is installed automatically after reboot. |
4447; Unable to Install the Protection |
Review the package manager traces inside the file /usr/local/management-agent/log/install_XXXX-XX-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.XXXX_install.log. |
4448; Could Not Get Access to the Repository |
Unable to access the WatchGuard Agent or the protection repositories. Confirm the communications configuration has connectivity to the required URLs. For more information, go to this Knowledge Base article: URLs used by Panda and WatchGuard Endpoint Security products (external). |
4449; Unsupported OS Version |
The distribution or version identified is not supported by the WatchGuard Agent or the protection agent. Confirm the supported distributions and versions. For more information, go to the Linux installation requirements in the Release Notes (external). |
4450; Unable to Find the Package Manager |
The package manager is incorrect for the distribution, is not supported, or is not installed. |
4451; Unsupported Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel (UEK) Release |
The current Oracle UEK release is not supported. The automatic validation system for new kernels, as well as the periodic remediation at the endpoint, will enable the kernel module when it is available. |
4452; Unsupported Kernel |

macOS
These error messages could occur on the agent during installation on Mac devices:
