Remove Password Requirement to Uninstall WatchGuard Endpoint Security
Applies To: WatchGuard Advanced EPDR, WatchGuard EPDR, WatchGuard EDR, and WatchGuard EDR Core
In most cases, you configure WatchGuard Endpoint Security so that only authorized users can disable or uninstall it. If you protect WatchGuard Endpoint Security with an uninstall password, you must provide the password to continue with an uninstall process However, you can remove the requirement of a password. For example, you might want to remove the password requirement when you use the PSInfo Protection Generic Uninstaller.
To remove the password requirement to uninstall WatchGuard Endpoint Security:
- In WatchGuard Cloud, select Configure > Endpoints.
- Select Settings > Per-Computer Settings.
- Select an existing security settings profile to edit.
- Select Security Against Unauthorized Protection Tampering.
- To not require the user to enter a password to uninstall WatchGuard Endpoint Security, disable the Request Password to Uninstall the Protection from Computers toggle.
- Click Save.
If the endpoint computer is not able to communicate with the management UI, and the password requirement settings are not applied, contact Support.
