In Fireware v12.5.4 or higher, BOVPN and BOVPN virtual interface configurations support hex-based pre-shared keys for both IKEv1 and IKEv2.
A hex-based key includes any combination or amount of hexadecimal characters:
- Numerals (0 through 9)
- Uppercase A, B, C, D, E, and F
- Lowercase a, b, c, d, e, and f
One example of a hex-based key is 0x12345e6f.
