Disable or Enable a Branch Office VPN

You can enable or disable a configured BOVPN virtual interface or a BOVPN gateway.

When you disable a BOVPN gateway or BOVPN virtual interface:

  • You can still edit BOVPN gateway, tunnel, and virtual interface settings.
  • The tunnels associated with a disabled BOVPN gateway are disabled.
  • Disabled tunnel routes do not appear in the Status Report.
  • BOVPN virtual interface routes are not added to the routing table.
  • Disabled tunnels and BOVPN virtual interfaces are disabled in the BOVPN-Allow.out and BOVPN-Allow.in policies.

Disabled BOVPN tunnels or virtual interfaces remain in the To or From list of any policies that use them. Policies do not send traffic through a disabled BOVPN tunnel or virtual interface.

Disable or Enable a BOVPN Gateway

To disable a BOVPN gateway, from Fireware Web UI:

  1. Select VPN > BOVPN.
  2. Select an enabled gateway.
  3. Click Disable.
  4. Click OK to confirm that you want to disable the gateway.
    The gateway and all associated tunnels are disabled.

To disable a BOVPN gateway, from Policy Manager:

  1. Select VPN > Branch Office Gateways.
  2. Select one or more enabled gateways.
  3. Click Disable.
  4. Click Yes to confirm that you want to disable the gateway.
    The gateway and all associated tunnels are disabled.

To enable a disabled gateway, select the gateway and click Enable.

Disable or Enable a BOVPN Virtual Interface

To disable a BOVPN virtual interface, from Fireware Web UI:

  1. Select VPN > BOVPN Virtual Interface.
  2. Select an enabled BOVPN virtual interface.
  3. Click Disable.
  4. Click OK to confirm that you want to confirm the BOVPN virtual interface.
    The BOVPN virtual interface is disabled.

To disable a BOVPN virtual interface, from Policy Manager:

  1. Select VPN > BOVPN Virtual Interface.
  2. Select one or more enabled BOVPN virtual interfaces.
  3. Click Disable.
  4. Click Yes to confirm that you want to disable the BOVPN virtual interface.
    The BOVPN virtual interface is disabled.

To enable a disabled BOVPN virtual interface, Select the BOVPN virtual interface and click Enable.
