When you enable IPv6 for an interface, you can configure IPv6 connection settings. The default values are appropriate for most networks. We recommend that you do not change them unless your network requires it. These settings appear in the IPv6 tab when you edit an interface.
- In the Hop Limit text box, type or select the IPv6 hop limit.
The hop limit is the number of network segments a packet can travel over before it is discarded by a router.
The default value is 64. - In the DAD Transmits text box, type or select the number of DAD (Duplication Address Detection) transmits for this link.
The default value is 1. If you set this value to 0, duplicate address detection is not performed.
