Renew Subscription Services
WatchGuard subscription services must get regular updates to operate effectively. When a subscription service is about to expire, WatchGuard sends you an email notification. You might also view reminders in Fireware Web UI or WatchGuard System Manager.
To renew a subscription service, you must buy a renewal, and then activate the license in WatchGuard website. Contact your WatchGuard reseller. For more information, go to Purchase Options.
Renew Subscriptions from WatchGuard Website
- Go to https://myproducts.watchguard.com/manage-products and log in with your WatchGuard account user name and password.
The Manage Products page opens. - Select a product category and click View Products.
The products page opens.
- Select a friendly name from the list to view details for the product.
- Click Find a Partner or contact your WatchGuard reseller to purchase the subscription services you want to renew.
After you purchase the renewal, you receive a license key to activate in your WatchGuard account (https://myproducts.watchguard.com/activate). When you activate a renewal for Firebox subscription services, you select the device to apply the services to.
If your WatchGuard reseller is an MSSP who manages your account, the reseller can activate the renewal on your behalf.
To see the expiration date of your subscription services, from Fireware Web UI:
- Select System > Feature Key.
The Expiration column shows when the subscription expires. - To see the number of days until each service expires, select Dashboard > System.
To purchase a renewal, contact your WatchGuard reseller. After you purchase the security subscription renewal and activate the license key, you must update the feature key on the Firebox.
To update the feature key for your subscriptions, from Fireware Web UI, select System > Feature Key.

Renew Subscriptions from Policy Manager
Your Firebox gives you reminders to renew your subscriptions when you save changes to a configuration file. WatchGuard System Manager reminds you that your subscription is about to expire 60 days before, 30 days before, 15 days before, and the day before the expiration date.
When your subscriptions expire, you cannot save any changes to your configuration until you either renew or disable the expired subscription. To purchase a renewal, contact your WatchGuard reseller. After you purchase the security subscription renewal and activate the license key, you must update the feature key on the Firebox.
To update the feature key for your subscriptions, from Policy Manager:
- Select File > Save > To Firebox.
You see a message that tells you to update your feature key. - Click OK.
The Feature Key Compliance dialog box opens.
- Select the expired subscription.
- Click Add Feature Key and paste your new feature key.
You cannot right-click to paste. You must press CTRL+V on your keyboard or click Paste.
If you do not already have your new feature key, you must click Disable even if you plan to renew later. You do not lose your settings if you disable the subscription. If you renew your subscription at a later time, you can reactivate the settings and save them to the Firebox.
- Click OK.

Renew Subscriptions from Firebox System Manager
If a subscription is to expire soon, a warning appears on the front panel of Firebox System Manager and Renew Now shows in the upper-right corner of the window.
To renew subscriptions, from Firebox System Manager:
- On the front panel, click Renew Now.
- Select a product category and click View Products.
The products page opens. - Select a friendly name from the list to view details for the product.
- Click Find a Partner, or contact your WatchGuard reseller to purchase the subscription services you want to renew.
After you purchase the renewal, you receive a license key to activate in your WatchGuard account (www.watchguard.com/activate). When you activate a renewal for Firebox subscription services, you are prompted to select the device to apply the services to.
