WatchGuard Cloud on Your Firebox
Applies To: Locally-managed Fireboxes
WatchGuard Cloud is the cloud-based platform where you can centrally monitor all of your Fireboxes. For more information, go to About WatchGuard Cloud.
- Total Security Suite and Basic Security Suite include a license for WatchGuard Cloud.
- With the release of Fireware v12.9, you can also add a Firebox with a Standard Support license to WatchGuard Cloud for centralized management.
To make sure your Firebox has the WatchGuard Cloud license, synchronize the feature key. For more information, see About Firebox WatchGuard Cloud Licenses. The feature key must include CLOUD_VISIBILITY or CLOUD_CONNECT. The feature key should synchronize automatically with the update to Fireware v12.9. If you do not have the Enable automatic feature key synchronization option enabled, then we recommend that you manually synchronize the feature key from Fireware Web UI or WSM. This topic describes how to add a Firebox to WatchGuard Cloud for monitoring. You can also add a Firebox to WatchGuard Cloud as a cloud-managed device. For more information, see Manage Fireboxes and FireClusters in WatchGuard Cloud.
Add the Firebox to WatchGuard Cloud
Before you can enable WatchGuard Cloud on the Firebox, you must add the Firebox to your WatchGuard Cloud account. When you add the Firebox to WatchGuard Cloud, you copy a Verification Code that you paste into the Firebox configuration. The Verification Code is unique to each Firebox and expires after 30 days.
If your Firebox has a TPM (Trusted Platform Module) chip, and runs Fireware v12.5.3 or higher, the Firebox uses TPM to register with WatchGuard Cloud.
For an active/passive locally-managed FireCluster, you must always paste the verification code into the Firebox configuration, regardless of Firebox model.
