Manage Profiles
Applies To: Wi-Fi Cloud-managed Access Points (AP125, AP225W, AP325, AP327X, AP420)
A profile is a default set of permissions that define the actions available to a user in Launchpad. In addition to the default, predefined profiles, you can create custom, user-defined profiles to assign to user accounts.
Add a User-Defined Profile
To create a user-defined profile, you start with a Custom profile and modify the privileges for the profile.
To add a user-defined profile:
- Open Launchpad.
- Select Admin and select the Profiles tab.
- To add a new profile, click New Profile.
- In the Profile name text box, type a profile name.
- Click Save.
Once the profile is saved you can configure the privileges for the role.
- To enable Launchpad access in this profile, click Launchpad.
The Launchpad settings page appears.
- Select the privileges settings for Launchpad. For more information, see Assign Service Privileges for Launchpad.
- Click Save.
- Click .
- Repeat these steps for the Analyze and Manage services. For more information, see Assign Service Privileges for Analyze and Assign Service Privileges for Manage .
- After you complete the configuration settings for the roles on the selected services, click Save.
Edit a User-Defined Profile
You can change the privileges assigned to a user-defined profile. You cannot edit the profile that has been assigned to you.
To edit a user-defined profile:
- Open Launchpad.
- Select Admin and select the Profiles tab.
- Select a profile.
- Change the settings specified for the profile.
- Click Save.
Delete a User-Defined Profile
You can delete a user-defined profile if no user has been assigned this profile. You cannot delete predefined profiles.
To delete a user-defined profile:
- Open Launchpad.
- Select Admin and select the Profiles tab.
- In the row of the profile to delete, click and select Delete.
A confirmation message appears. - Click Yes.
See a List of Users for the Profile
To see a list of users that have been assigned to a profile:
- Open Launchpad.
- Select Admin and select the Profiles tab.
The Profiles page appears with a list of all the configured profiles and the number of users assigned to each profile. - To see the users for a profile, in the Users Assigned column for the profile, click the number.
The Users page appears with the list of users for the selected profile.
