Configure Multicast Routing
You can enable multicast routing on your Firebox and configure interfaces as Rendezvous Point (RP) candidates.
This multicast routing feature is supported in Fireware v12.0 and higher. Your Firebox also supports a legacy multicast routing option for BOVPN. To use the multicast feature explained this topic, you must disable the Enable multicast routing over the tunnel setting in your BOVPN configuration if it is enabled.
- Select Network > Multicast Routing.
- Select the Enable Multicast Routing check box.
This enables the PIM-SM multicast routing protocol globally. You must continue to Step 4 and add multicast interfaces for multicast routing to work.
- Click Add.
The Add Multicast Interface dialog box appears.
- Click Select.
The Select Multicast Interface dialog box appears.
- Select an interface and click OK.
- To configure the interface you selected as a Rendezvous Point candidate, select the RP Candidate check box.
- Click OK.
- Click Save.
The alias Any-Multicast and these two policies are added to your configuration:
- MR-PIM-Allow
- MR-IGMP-Allow
- Select Network > Multicast.
The Multicast Setup dialog box appears. - Select the Enable Multicast Routing check box.
This enables the PIM-SM multicast routing protocol globally. You must continue to Step 3 and add multicast interfaces for multicast routing to work.
- Click Add.
The Add Multicast Interface dialog box appears.
- Click Select.
The Select an Interface dialog box appears.
- Select an interface and click OK.
The Add Multicast Interface dialog box appears. - To configure the interface you selected as a Rendezvous Point candidate, select the RP Candidate check box.
- Click OK.
The alias Any-Multicast and these two policies are added to your configuration:
- MR-PIM-Allow
- MR-IGMP-Allow
