AuthPoint for End-Users
Applies To: AuthPoint Multi-Factor Authentication, AuthPoint Total Identity Security
AuthPoint is a multi-factor authentication (MFA) service. When you use AuthPoint, you must authenticate when you log in to a protected resource, such as a VPN, online application, or a computer or server.
MFA adds additional layers of security to keep your account secure even if your password is compromised. With MFA, two or more credentials (password, token, fingerprint) are required to validate and identify you when you log in.
This creates multiple layers of protection, which makes it harder for someone to gain unauthorized access to a protected resource. Even if your password is compromised, that is only the first layer of defense that an attacker has to breach.
How It Works
When your administrator adds you as an AuthPoint user, you can continue to log in as usual with your user name and password, but you must also authenticate with your token in the AuthPoint mobile app.
- Open the login page for any service or application that has been set up for multi-factor authentication.
- Type your user name and password.
- Choose an authentication method to verify your identity.
- You are securely logged in.

Get Started
To get started, download and install the WatchGuard AuthPoint mobile app on your mobile device.
When your administrator deploys AuthPoint, you receive an activation email with a link that is used to activate your token in the AuthPoint mobile app.
Once you activate your token, you can use your mobile device to authenticate when you log in to a protected resource, such as a VPN, online application, or a computer or server.
