Reset Your Vault Password
Applies To: AuthPoint Total Identity Security
The AuthPoint password manager is a legacy feature that is only available to accounts that purchased Total Identity Security before 1 October 2024. Accounts that purchased AuthPoint Total Identity Security after that date do not include the password manager. For more information, go to End of Availability for the AuthPoint Password Manager.
If you forget your vault password, there is an I forgot my password link on the Unlock Your Vault page. Click that link if you need to reset your vault password.
You can change your vault password in the AuthPoint password manager browser extension.
You cannot reset your password without your recovery key.
To Reset Your Vault Password
- Authenticate and log in to the IdP portal or a SAML resource.
- Open the AuthPoint browser extension and click Sign in.
- Click I forgot my password.
The Recovery Data page opens in a new tab. - In the Recovery Key text box, enter the recovery key you received when you set your vault password. The recovery key is required to reset your vault password.
- In the New vault password text box, enter a new vault password.
- In the Confirm password text box, reenter your new vault password.
- Click Recover.
After you reset your vault password, you receive a new recovery key that you can use to recover your data if you forget your vault password. You cannot reset your password without the recovery key.
Caution: We strongly recommend that you save your recovery key in a secure location.
To Change Your Vault Password
- Authenticate and log in to the IdP portal or a SAML resource.
- Open the AuthPoint browser extension and click Sign in.
- Enter your vault password and click Unlock.
AuthPoint logs you in to your password vault and you see the Passwords page. - Open the menu and select Settings.
- Click My account.
The My Account page opens. - Click Change Vault Password.
The Change Vault Password page opens in a new tab. - In the Current vault password text box, enter your current vault password.
- In the New vault password text box, enter a new vault password.
- In the Confirm new vault password text box, reenter your new vault password.
- Click Change.
After you change your vault password, you receive a new recovery key that you can use to recover your data if you forget your vault password. You cannot reset your password without the recovery key.
